Food waste can affect odour, hygiene, back-of-house flow and sustainability goals. A practical collection plan helps sites separate food waste clearly and manage it consistently.
Food waste services can be set up for different volumes, from bag-based collection to 240L wheelie-bin setups, depending on the site and collection plan.
Vegetables, fruit, meat, seafood, bones, shells, bread, paper towels, napkins and suitable compostable or PLA items may be accepted where the service setup allows.
For lower volumes, 60L orange food waste bags can be used, tied up and placed into a suitable collection bin as part of the agreed setup.
For larger volumes, a 240L wheelie bin with biodegradable liners can support regular food waste separation.
Collected food waste is directed through the approved processing pathway in place at the time of service. Current processing details can be confirmed during setup.
